Quotes from attendees of the first annual CBA Winter Music Camp in Feb, 2010:

“I am sitting here trying to think of what could have been better, and it's hard to think of anything! It all ran like a well oiled machine, from the dancing to the electives to the wonderful surroundings and meals. Obviously lots of thought and hard work was put into making camp a great experience.”

“All in all--the level of instructors in this camp was awesome. The teacher concert was fantastic. Walker Creek Ranch was a beautiful and comfortable environment. I will recommend this camp to my friends.”

“Walker Creek Ranch is an amazing place. I loved it there. I loved nature around, everything was easily accessible, classes were in good spaces. It was easy to find classes with permanent signs as well as ours.
It was a truly music-changing event for me and I loved every part of it. SO well done - really amazing!”

“Camp’s been over for several days now, but I’m still going around with a smile on my face and music tumbling all around inside my head. A glorious experience from first to last!”

“The student concert was awesome. My first time on stage!! The square dance was fun fun fun!”

“I loved this camp. I learned things by watching and jamming with people that I would not have gotten through individual instruction.”

“First night I jammed with some other campers. They are all very nice people. Will be friends for life.”

“The square dance was a hoot. So glad I went and so glad that lady asked me to dance with her. Didn't know it could be so fun. “

“Everyone was helpful. This may have been the best teaching staff ever. My experience was that the staff's teaching ability in addition to the musicianship was outstanding. They all seem to know how to engage students at their level and inspire skill and confidence as well provide appropriate direct instruction. Not all excellent musicians are excellent teachers, but this camp's staff seemed to be.”

“All in all, a wonderful experience. The food was beyond my expectation. The dance in the barn at night was like stepping back in time to something in the Ozarks, and the staff concert was magic. Regarding the morning instruction on our instrument of choice, I learned that an old dog CAN learn new tricks!”

“The location was just fabulous.......how else could one describe the rolling green hills, the sheep and cattle, and the absence of cell phone calls! Right as one enters the ground one knows this is going to be a magical experience. The location just puts one into a very relaxed and open state of mind for music and people.”

“You hit the ball out of the park with this one. It had a wonderful chemistry of closeness or intimacy and support from everyone involved…age range from 9 yrs old to 80. This was an experience I will never forget, and I’m motivated to work harder on my banjo to develop my jamming skills.”

“Most fun I had in a long time. I really liked the break after lunch and used it to explore on my bike and hike on some of the trails in the glorious sunshine! The site was like Shangri La, I hope we can return next year!”

“I really, really appreciated the opportunity to try out performing for myself. I have never before performed and never thought I'd be able to do it. But with encouragement I put together a band and we did it! I think for many of us it was a great opportunity to get our feet wet in a super supportive environment. It was a great experience I will never forget! This was my first music camp.”

“This Winter camp was the best music camp I have ever attended.”
